Batman #492

Knightfall part one
Moench and Breyfogle
reviewed by bluedevil2002

Cover: Kelly Jones' run continues. It's not his worst, but the ears are a little too big, as well as placed wrong.

Story: The Mad Hatter is loose. Actually, all of the Arkham villains are loose, but the Hatter is the villain of the week. Anyway, because it's only part one of a 19 part saga, there's not much to do. Also, since the big opening - Bane releasing all of the Arkham inmates - was covered in Batman #491 (not labeled as Knightfall), this says part one, but is really the second or third chapter. Kinda weak, but not bad. Let's hope the pacing picks up.

Art: Breyfogle is one of those "classic" Batman artists. However, here he didn't do his best job. On page six, Bullock is shadowed too much, and you can barely tell that it is Bullock. The coloring is also a bit off. Montoya is colored too dark, and several white people are coloring pink.

Overall: Different from the prelude in the last issue, and not the best chapter of the series. However, it has proves that Knightfall has potential.
